Brf Smörslottsparken in Gothenburg
The Customer:
Brf Smörslottsparken in Gothenburg has been built in different phases by the publicly traded real estate company Balder. The third phase consists of 297 newly built apartments with 645 measurement points.
The end customer in the project is Brf Smörslottsparken.
Infometric’s customers are property owners and housing cooperatives whom they help by efficiently measuring and reducing their energy costs and making them more environmentally efficient. The services offered include IMD (Individual Metering and Billing), billing of consumption from charging stations, and “Common electricity.” Since 1995, Infometric has collected more than one billion measurement values.
Infometric is a market leader and has offices in Sollentuna and Gothenburg.
The Challenge:
Measurement of hot water, cold water, and temperature in 297 apartments.
The requirement was that data collection should be done with a wired M-Bus system. Along with the data collection, the assignment also included Infometric’s IMD system Infosam. During the construction of Smörslottsparken, there was a request to supplement the data collection with heat quantity measurement. The challenge was that construction had already started, and rebuilding the ducting would involve large renovation costs.
The Solution:
To avoid the large renovation costs that retrofitting ducting would require, Infometric proposed supplementing with a wireless M-Bus system.
PiiGAB’s Gateway 900T/S enables combining both wired and wireless meters in the same gateway.
The heart of the data collection system is the PiiGAB 900S gateway, which collects the measurement data. Based on the collected data, heating in the apartments is optimized to save energy, money, and the environment. The consumption of each apartment’s hot water is sent to the IMD system for individual billing to the apartment owners.
In this project, the decision was ultimately made not to add heat quantity measurement, but the ability to offer this is a strength.
