Indoor climate in Norwegian schools
Customer:
In Oslo municipality in Norway are the schools Apaløkka and Grorud.
Oslo municipality is a customer of Autic System.
Autic has delivered products and software for automation and industrial IT for over 25 years through integrators across Norway. Some core areas include: SCADA, HMI, control systems, and industrial communication.
The Challenge:
Oslo municipality wants to record indoor climate data at Apaløkka and Grorud schools in their control system. What they wanted to record was CO2, temperature, and humidity in more than 250 rooms.
The Solution:
Each building at the schools was equipped with a PiiGAB 900S that can receive wireless meters on M-Bus. They also set up repeaters to ensure maximum coverage. The measurement is performed with sensors that combine CO2, temperature, and humidity in the same sensor. Since the installation requires no programming, only simple configuration via a web interface, these are very easy to work with.
With wireless sensors, you avoid expensive and time-consuming cable installations to install measuring equipment in existing properties. It is also suitable for supplementing an already existing wired measurement infrastructure. In PiiGAB’s Gateways, you can combine wired and wireless M-Bus.
Johnson Controls has integrated data from the PiiGAB 900S Gateway into its system for central operation control via Modbus TCP.
We at PiiGAB are happy to have been part of the project.
